March News—Easter Sunday we had a good service with over 120 people in attendance, in spite of a downpouroutside!Several of the church people put on a drama of thecrucifixion and resurrection of Christ. They did a great job and even though none were saved many visitors were able to hear the gospel clearly that day.
Owino Peter, whom I spoke about in our last prayerletter, was baptized the end of March along with 4 others.Continue to pray for him as he grows in the Lord.
Salvation in a Muslim School—My wife had the privilege of leading a young lady to the Lord in a Muslim school a few weeks back.Brenda, a new Christian with a desire to see herfamily saved, wanted Jacky to visit her cousin Rita at her Muslim boarding school. This next part is in my wife’s own words.“Brenda and I went to the school and asked permission for Rita to come out of classes to talk with us.Rita came out to meet us in the full Muslim dress.Even though she is not Muslim, she is required to wear the clothes.Everyone inside the compound of the school wore the Muslim dress.Everyone greeted each other with the typical Muslim greeting. It was very intimidating being inside, surrounded by Muslims, and about to share the Gospel with this young girl.We were given a bench in the schoolyard to sit and talk.I knew we would never be able to share the gospel with Rita with all these Muslims walking around within hearing distance of us.But the Lord was working ahead of us and the bench ‘happened’ to be broken! We were then taken to a small room inside the school. It was very quiet and private and there in that room Rita heard the Gospel and accepted Christ as her Saviour in a muslim school!”Pray for Rita that she will grow in her Christian life. She is never allowed to leave the school, but we are trying to get special permission for her to be able to come to church on Sundays.
