Visitors
Operation Renewed Hope is a medical group of volunteers who came to help churches by treating the people for free. In a week they saw over 1300 patients and had over 750 professions of faith. The crowd you see below are those we had to send home. There were just too many people for the Doctors to see.
We had our pastors Institute in June here in Mbarara. Brother Steve Hadfield, a pastor from Canada, shared some of the teaching. While he was here he worked in both Ruti and Kyahi villages and led several souls to Christ.
When Pastor Hadfield, left we picked up three young men from West Coast Baptist College who had come to work for about 6 weeks. They found out that being a missionary was more work than they imagined. They slashed, dug, painted, cleaned, carried etc. They did not mind the work but the village food—that was a different story.
Kamwenge
We took them to the Kamwenge area where we are working with 3 pastors who are in our Bible Institute. When we arrived at Pastor Patrick Rwambuka’s church, many were gathered from the village waiting for us.
They gave us tea and then I preached. After that we had lunch and I preached again followed by Brother Bassett. Several prayed to receive Christ. After we finished preaching we opened it up to questions. Brother Jeff and I answered questions until it was so dark we could not see anyone. They got a lantern and we continued until around 10:30. What a blessing to see people who are hungry for the Word of God.
When we were finished we went to the pastors house and set up our tent and had a very late supper and finally got some sleep.
