March April 2008
On the 3rd of March our church had the privilege of sending out our first missionary couple. We have sent Stephen and Caroline to Kanungu to start a church there and also one in the Pygmy village nearby. By the end of March, he had 13 saved on soul winning, 3 in services, 25 in prison and 9 in the hospital and averaging over 50. Below, our ladies were giving them some gifts to help them as they go.
We also had our pastors in from the villages for a week of training. It is a joy to see them excited about learning God’s Word. Pray for them and their people.
Cheri and I went to Pastor Seduraka’s church where I performed his wedding on the 22nd of March. As you can see, it is not as beautiful as your church but it is beautiful to us. Even with mud walls and dirt floor it is a lighthouse in their valley. After 4 hours on BAD roads we were physically shot but rejoicing in the Lord.
We also had a wedding in Mbarara on the 26th of April. People are obeying God.
We take the Institute to the village and teach the men throughout the morning and in the afternoon we hold a meeting for the whole village. We teach until it’s so dark that we can’t see the people. We then go to the pastor’s house and set up a tent for sleeping and leave for Mbarara the next morning.
Tom and Cheri Tracht have been working in Faith Baptist Church in Tacoma, WA. They came to Uganda on a survey trip in April. We are really praising God because He has touched their hearts to return to Uganda to work with us. Tom retired as a Major from the Air Force and will be a great asset to the work here. He and his family will be working with Project HOPE,
Bible Institute, and the Mobile Institute as we plant churches in the villages.
God has increased our missionary staff in another way. Matthew and Keila gave us our 13th grandchild. Kimberly Anne was born April 4th. Andrew and Jacky gave us our 14th staff member, Bryan Carter, born on April 17th. When Alisha joins us, our Stensaas missionary staff in Africa will be up to 23. God is so good to us.
I wanted to share some victories at Life Radio but space will not allow.
Thank you for allowing us to do this for you and for our Saviour.
Because of Christ,
Bryan & Cheri Stensaas
